About Mabel Moyano
Mabel has been a teacher in Miami, Florida for many years. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she studied art at the Escuela de Bellas Artes \"Manuel Belgrano\" and \"Prilidiano Pueyredon\", where she obtained an Art Teacher Degree. She studied oil painting, wood printing, etching and sculpture. Years later, in the United States, she completed a Bachelor of Education Degree at the University of Miami, FL. She worked for some years as an engineering draftperson, until she married and moved to Illinois, and later Berlin, Germany. In Berlin she had the opportunity of learning watercolor techniques from the illustrator to the Botanical Gardens. On coming back to Miami, she continued studying oil painting and watercolors on her own.
\"I like to express my ideas and feelings with visual images. I would like more attention being paid to the beauty of every day things. In our rush to our jobs and chores, we often disregard the surprising beauty of the lights and shadows that surround us.\"
Recently, her oil paintings were shown at the 2009 art-expo NewYork, the Piag Museum in Coral Gables, FL. She is a member of the Coral Gables Art Club and the Miami Watercolor Society. Several of her paintings are in private collections in the United States, Germany and South America.
